The Kids’ Factory project by artist Philip Wiegard will take place in July in Gandegg´s castle park. Children aged 8 to 14 will learn a historical paper finishing technique called paste paper under the artist's guidance. The resulting wallpaper will be part of the exhibition Dreams That Money Can Buy, which opens at Gandegg Castle in autumn.
During the three-week workshop, the participating children will learn a historical paper finishing technique called paste paper. However, the activity in the workshop goes beyond mere learning; instead, the children will participate in a full-fledged production process. They will be taught what it means to engage in a craft and achieve a certain mastery in it. For the artist, the children are assistants during the workshop. Therefore, they contribute significantly to the success of the exhibition. In addition, the children receive an hourly wage and thus get a playful insight into the working world.
The Kids' Factory project runs for three weeks. Children who would like to participate must attend at least five, or more days. Please let us know the desired period when you register.

Das Projekt Kids’ Factory des Künstlers Philip Wiegard wird im Juli im Schlosspark stattfinden. In diesem erlernen Kinder im Alter von 8 bis 14 Jahren, unter Anleitung des Künstlers, eine historische Technik der Papierveredelung, die sogenannte Kleisterpapier-Technik. Die so entstehende Tapete wird Teil der Ausstellung Dreams That Money Can Buy, die im Herbst im Schloss Gandegg eröffnet.
Die Tätigkeit im Workshop geht aber über das bloße Erlernen hinaus, stattdessen werden die Kinder an einem vollwertigen Produktionsprozess teilhaben. Ihnen soll vermittelt werden, was es bedeutet, sich auf ein Handwerk einzulassen und darin eine gewisse Meisterschaft zu erlangen. Für den Künstler sind die Kinder während des Workshops Assistent*innen, sie tragen wesentlich zum Gelingen der Ausstellung bei. Deshalb erhalten die Kinder, fast wie in der Erwachsenenwelt, einen Stundenlohn für ihre Arbeit und bekommen so einen spielerischen Einblick in die Arbeitswelt.
Das Projekt Kids’ Factory läuft für drei Wochen. Kinder, die gerne mitmachen möchten, müssen mindestens an fünf, oder mehr Tagen teilnehmen. Bitte teilen Sie uns bei der Anmeldung den gewünschten Zeitraum mit.

Il progetto Kids' Factory dell'artista Philip Wiegard si svolgerà a luglio nel parco del castello. In questo, i bambini dagli 8 ai 14 anni, sotto la guida dell'artista, impareranno una tecnica storica di finitura della carta, la cosiddetta tecnica della carta in pasta. La carta da parati che ne è scaturita farà parte della mostra Dreams That Money Can Buy, che verrà inaugurata a Gandegg Castle in autunno.
Tuttavia, l'attività del laboratorio va oltre il semplice apprendimento; i bambini parteciperanno invece a un vero e proprio processo di produzione. Verrà insegnato loro cosa significa impegnarsi in un mestiere e raggiungere una certa padronanza in esso. Per l'artista, i bambini sono assistenti durante il laboratorio e contribuiscono in modo significativo al successo della mostra. Per questo motivo, i bambini ricevono una paga oraria per il loro lavoro, quasi come nel mondo degli adulti, e possono così avere una visione ludica del mondo del lavoro.
Il progetto Kids' Factory dura tre settimane. I bambini che desiderano partecipare devono frequentare almeno cinque o più giorni. Si prega di comunicare il periodo desiderato al momento dell'iscrizione.
